If you're shopping for IQOS sticks in Dubai, you've probably noticed two names floating around: HEETS and TEREA. They look similar, they're both made by Philip Morris International, and they're both designed for heat-not-burn devices — but they are not interchangeable. Here's what actually separates them.
The short answer
HEETS are made for the earlier generation of IQOS devices: IQOS 3 DUO, IQOS 3, IQOS 3 MULTI, IQOS 2.4 Plus, and IQOS Lil Solid. TEREA sticks are made exclusively for the newer IQOS ILUMA lineup (ILUMA, ILUMA ONE, ILUMA PRIME), which uses induction heating instead of a blade. The two are not cross-compatible — using the wrong stick in the wrong device can damage it, so this is the first thing to check before you order.
Why the devices don't mix
Classic IQOS devices heat tobacco sticks with a metal blade inserted into the stick. IQOS ILUMA devices heat the stick from the outside using induction, with no blade at all — which is also why TEREA sticks have a slightly different foil design. If you own an ILUMA, you need TEREA. If you own IQOS 3 or earlier, you need HEETS.
Flavour and experience differences
Beyond compatibility, users often report TEREA delivers a slightly more consistent draw and flavour release thanks to the induction heating, while HEETS remain the wider-ranging catalogue with more regional variants, including Arabic-blend HEETS from Lebanon and premium selections from Kazakhstan. TEREA's range is smaller but growing, with popular options like Amber, Bronze, Sienna, and a full menthol lineup.
